Introduction
The Savvycheck StrepA Stick is a qualitative, lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of Streptococcus Group A carbohydrate antigen directly from throat swabs.
Group A Streptococci is the cause for acute streptococcal pharyngitis and other pyogenic infections, and also associated with post streptococcal sequelae, specifically acute rheumatic fever and acute glomerulonephritis. In order to properly treat the disease using antibiotic therapy, it is important to use an accurate diagnostic method to identify the pathologic agent.
The kit includes one test strip and reagent tube to allow the performance of the test in one step.
